Tampa, Fla. – (June 1, 2017) – One lucky student will drive away with a brand new Yaris, from Toyota of Tampa Bay, as part of the Perfect Car for Perfect Attendance event.
Graduating seniors from Hillsborough County Public Schools who had perfect attendance at least one year while in high school are eligible to take part in the drawing on Sunday, June 4, at 11 a.m., at Toyota of Tampa Bay, located at 1101 East Fletcher Ave., Tampa.
Good attendance is a leading indicator for graduation. “Research shows when students are coming to school and engaged in their course work, they are more likely to reach graduation and become successful in life,” explained Superintendent Jeff Eakins.
More than 1,800 high school seniors are eligible and were invited to participate in the event. For every year in high school a student maintained perfect attendance, the student will receive one ticket for the drawing.
It will be an exciting morning as fifteen students’ names are randomly pulled out of a large bin and each selected student will pick one of 15 keys. The students will take turns trying their key in the car door, hoping to unlock the door.
Five students who had perfect attendance, kindergarten through 12th grade, will be guaranteed a key, for a 1/15 chance to win.
Brett Morgan, General Manager of Toyota of Tampa Bay, is thrilled to be hosting this event for the seventh year. “Students with perfect attendance demonstrate a high degree of commitment to both the teacher and the class by being there every single day. Perfect attendance also teaches the importance of seeing something through to the end. Arriving to school each day, on time, is a skill that easily translates to the workforce and leading a responsible adult life."
Students must be present to win and must sign in between 10 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at the event.
