Parent University Focuses on STEM!
Join us for Parent University on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Bloomingdale High School 7:30 – noon.
This free program is a series of informational sessions that support the academic life of children in kindergarten through 12th grade. In addition to the regular sessions offered, like tips for succeeding in middle school and information on Bright Futures/FAFSA, this Parent University will be highlighting STEM in Tampa Bay. STEM topics include how to support your student in math, learn new ideas for bringing STEM activities into the home and get information on STEM Career Academies and more!
This event will also include a special learning opportunity for high school STUDENTS! Bring your high school student to learn more about the STEM field, including an introduction to engineering and volunteer/internship opportunities in our community. Free childcare will be provided by the HOST (Hillsborough Out of School Time) program for families with children kindergarten through fifth grade. At the end of the day, a FREE lunch will also be offered to all attendees!
Parent University is a collaboration of the Alliance for Public Schools, Hillsborough County Public Schools, Hillsborough Classroom Teachers Association and United Way Suncoast.
