Minerva Spanner-Morrow Biography
Mrs. Minerva Spanner-Morrow is the newly hired Chief Diversity Officer for Hillsborough County Public Schools. She has been in education for 25 years in the State of Ohio. She began her career as a high school teacher, and was promoted to school principal positions at various educational levels at K-12 high poverty urban public schools in Ohio. She has several awards for improving academic achievement for increasing high school graduation rates. Mrs. Spanner-Morrow has a B.A. in Secondary Education and M.S. Degree in Education Administration from the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. She is currently pursuing her Doctoral Degree in Leadership Studies in Education at Ashland University. The focus of her dissertation includes best practices for improving the education of African-American and Hispanic high school students. Mrs. Spanner-Morrow has participated in several high level leadership trainings from prestigious institutions such as Harvard University, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business. Mrs. Minerva Spanner-Morrow has received many accolades such as, the Juniper Serra Multilingual Award, the NAACP Leadership Award in Education and the Martha Jennings Holding Leadership Award. She is married to Todd Morrow, a Purchasing Manager and Engineer, and they are proud parents of two adult sons.
