The Adult Basic Education program is for students who need a high school diploma, have legally withdrawn from a traditional K-12 school or score at the ABE level on the TABE placement assessment. The Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) is used to determine reading, math and language performance levels to place students into our programs appropriately.
ABE classes help adult students improve basic skills in math, reading, and language arts. GED courses are designed to prepare students to successfully complete the four GED subject area tests leading to a State of Florida High School Diploma or remediate to desired TABE levels. Courses include Language Arts Writing, Language Arts Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
Student’s progress at their own pace, learn basic skills, and prepare for entry into the GED program, or vocational/technical training opportunities.
Course work assists the student in attaining success aimed at satisfying the needs of adults wishing to change or maintain career goals, improve basic academic skills, or otherwise further their educational opportunities.
Our ABE/GED programs are conveniently designed to provide instruction through face-to-face, traditional classroom experiences or online for those individuals choosing to study from home. Courses are available mornings, afternoons and evenings. If you are interested in attending classes, click here for a list of sites near you.
