Student Literacy and Media (SLAM) Showcase
The Student Literacy and Media (SLAM) Showcase is a celebration of reading and literacy through students’ artistic and digital expressions in response to quality literature from state reading award lists. Students at participating schools share their creative works at their schools first. Exemplary selections go on to the District SLAM in March at the Tampa Convention Center where those students are recognized, attend an art and film festival of student created art and videos inspired by books, meet authors of some of the award nominated books, and enjoy other literacy based activities.
