Dr. Mark Elgart, President of AdvancED, Team Leader, provided the oral exit report. A comprehensive written report will be submitted within 30 days and at that time they will entertain questions. AdvancED supports over 32,000 private and public schools world-wide. He outlined the process and presented the teams recommendations.

During their visit the Review Team observed over 600 classrooms and district offices. They met with stakeholders, and reviewed materials during their visit from February 15-18, 2015.

The district is in a period of major transition – moving from innovating to implementing to institutionalizing. From a focus on adult development to development for the 21st century learner.

In selecting a superintendent don’t let the timeline drive the decision.

EET is the foundation on which you can build on in the future. Data use is important from the board room to the family room to the classroom. Communication is important. Engagement, Fidelity, Learner Support, and Efficacy.

Areas that will be addressed in the final report are:

  • Teaching and Learning Impact
  • Leadership Capacity
  • Resource Utilization
  • Eleot tm
  • Conclusion (Index of Education Quality (IEQ)
  • IEQ Results

The external review team recommends that HCPS earn the distinction of accreditation by AdvancED CASI for a five-year term that expires June 30, 2020. HCPS is the first district to achieve STEM certification. Middleton High School is the first high school in the nation to achieve STEM Certification.
