Promoting National Data Privacy Day, January 28th

Data Privacy is a critical aspect of one’s personal and professional life and identity. The careful handling of private data to prevent exposure is very important. Private data includes Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI). This data, if exposed to a nefarious group(s) or individual(s), can make life very difficult as there may be someone utilizing your personal information for unscrupulous purposes.

Take advantage of the Digital Citizenship information posted on the Hillsborough County Public Schools’ Division of Information and Technology page. This can be found by going to the district website and selecting Home/Departments/Division of Information and Technology/Instructional Technology/Digital Citizenship.

There are many good sites for you to view and share with your children to help them become good stewards of Digital Citizenship. The site listed on the banner above and on our Instructional Technology web page is an excellent choice to view in addition to the available district resources.
